Two for Odyssey Moon

Twin Hills Stud’s Odyssey Moon (Snitzel) sired an impressive first-up winner at Canberra yesterday when the Richard Litt-trained Peregrination (2 g ex Sharp Hill by Danehill) scored by three and a half lengths on the Acton track.

The second individual success for his sire, Peregrination ($3.60) defeated Gold Gift (Sooboog) ($3.40) while Christmas Reign (Manhattan Rain) ($4) was another three and a quarter lengths away third in the John McGrath Auto Group Handicap (1206m).

Peregrination, who was bred by Twin Hills’ Olly Tait, was bought for $5,000 at the 2019 Inglis Australian Weanling Sale by Narrandera horse breaker Ryan Pendergast who in turn resold him for $35,000 at last year’s Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale in Sydney to Sandeep Gaur Basu’s Absolut Indian Thoroughbreds.

Odyssey Moon, who is also the sire of the winning, Group 2-placed Chris Munce-trained filly Berdini’s Girl, will stand this year for a fee of $6,600 (inc GST).
